Poet's Beach Reopens for the Summer with HOR Kick Off

Portland, Ore. -- Poet's Beach is officially open for swimming and playing this summer. To kick off the opening season, published Honoring Our Rivers student author, Sincere Nathan (10 years old), read his prose piece "Clear Lake Days" (Page 30, 2018 Anthology) for the press and news channel. We're grateful for Sincere and his mother Chateau for coming to help us represent Honoring Our Rivers!

Poet's Beach is located under the Marquam Bridge on the west side of the Willamette River. It's named after the Honoring Our Rivers student river-inspired poems that are engraved in stones along the path descending to the sandy beach. Chinook Wawa words contributed from the Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde are also etched in stone amongst the children's poetry.
